How to Put Your WordPress SEO on Steroids

Many people assume that since the search engines love WordPress, that their blog will automatically get high rankings in the SERP's. Unfortunately, this couldn't be further from the truth. WordPress can do many things, but there is absolutely no way it can know who your target market is and what keywords you want to rank for.

Since it is well known that WordPress out of the box isn't very SEO friendly, I always use three extremely important plugins that help to boost my blogs rankings in the search engines.

Platinum SEO Pack:

This is by far the best plugin I have ever come across. It allows you to optimize the post and page titles for the search engines, and will also generate search engine friendly meta tags automatically.

This basically means that now the title of your posts will appear before the blog title in the search engine results. This is extremely important if you are trying to rank for a certain keyword or for boosting your search engine rankings in general.

SEO Friendly Images:

The ALT tag is a very underutilized tactic for driving traffic to your site when you are using images. By using this great little plugin, you can properly optimize all of your image tags with your selected keywords.

Now all of the images on your blog can help drive more traffic to your blog. Simple and easy, right?

Sitemap Generator Plugin For WordPress:

Sitemaps ensure that your entire blog will be crawled properly by the search engine robots. If you don't have a sitemap, you are taking a huge risk, especially with the Google bots.

This plugin will generate a sitemap for your blog and gives you the option to exclude whatever you wish, including pages and categories. It will also allow you to order the items in whatever order you wish.

To install and implement all three of these plugins will take you less than an hour. They are also very user-friendly and come with easy to understand documentation. With careful keyword selection and useful content, your site will now be on SEO steroids!
